Before Instagram, TikTok OnlyFans<\/span><\/a> and before everyone became a \u201ccontent creator\u201d, there was a very different kind of glamour industry.<\/p>\n

Lads\u2019 mags<\/a><\/span>, Page 3, Glamour modelling and, eventually, those slightly racy late-night satellite channels that your parents definitely didn\u2019t know you were watching. And right in the middle of it all was Georgie Darby<\/b><\/span><\/a>. Sixteen years later, she\u2019s still there. Yes, you read that right.<\/p>\n

16 years on Babestation.<\/b><\/p>\n

Georgie, now 38, has spent more than a third of her life appearing on late-night TV, building a seriously loyal following and, by her own admission, earning five figures a month. And if you ask Georgie how she\u2019s managed to stick around for so long? She reckons she was simply \u201cborn for the job.\u201d<\/b> I mean, she may have a point.<\/p>\n

From Lads\u2019 Mags to Late-Night TV<\/b><\/p>\n

Georgie\u2019s story takes us right back to the golden days of British glamour modelling<\/span><\/a>. At 19, after spotting some lads\u2019 magazines at her boyfriend\u2019s house, she decided she fancied giving modelling a go. With a bit of encouragement from her mum, she sent topless pictures off to various publications. And got rejected. More than once. But she kept going.<\/p>\n

Eventually, she caught the attention of respected Page 3 photographer Alan Strutt, which led to work with Zoo<\/i> magazine and helped launch her into the glamour world. Seeing her pictures in print was something she remembers making her feel proud and empowered. And that whole era is now almost impossible to recreate. There was something very British about it.<\/p>\n

Page 3 girls. Lads\u2019 mags in newsagents. Glamour shoots. Celebrities appearing in Zoo<\/i> and Nuts<\/i>. And then, when the sun went down, the babeshows came on.<\/p>\n

Then She Discovered Babestation<\/b><\/p>\n

Georgie joined Babestation in 2009, right when the satellite babeshow world was absolutely flying, and here\u2019s the funny bit: she hadn\u2019t even heard of Babestation before her first shift. Imagine that. Turning up for your first night at Babestation without really knowing what the bloody thing actually was. No wonder she was nervous.<\/p>\n

It didn\u2019t take long for Georgie to realise she\u2019d stumbled into something she was actually very good at. Within months, she\u2019d built herself a loyal following, with one viewer apparently calling her for hours every day. That\u2019s what I loved about the old babeshow days. You couldn\u2019t just follow your favourite girl on Instagram, send her a DM or subscribe to her page. If you wanted to speak to her, you had to pick up the phone and call<\/span><\/a>. That was it.<\/p>\n

And if she made you laugh, remembered your name or knew exactly how to wind you up when you called, you\u2019d probably be ringing again the next day.<\/p>\n

The Golden Age of Babeshows<\/b><\/p>\n

If you weren\u2019t around for it, it\u2019s genuinely hard to explain just how big the babeshows were. This was before the creator economy. Before TikTok. Before Instagram became the place where everyone documents every bloody second of their lives.<\/p>\n

There were no subscription sites where you could get constant access to your favourite creator. There wasn\u2019t even really a concept of \u201cgoing live<\/span><\/a>\u201d in the way we know it now. You sat in a studio. The camera was on. The phone lines were open. And you waited for the calls to come in. And they did.<\/p>\n

Babestation wasn\u2019t trying to compete with the internet. For a lot of people, Babestation basically was the internet. It was immediate, interactive and much more personal than people probably realise now. You actually had to talk to someone. You couldn\u2019t just like a photo and scroll past it three seconds later.<\/p>\n

Georgie built her following the old-fashioned way. She showed up, had a laugh, chatted to people, remembered the regulars and gave them a reason to pick up the phone again. Then she did it all over again the next night. And the night after that.<\/p>\n

Five Figures a Month\u2026 and Still Not Finished<\/b><\/p>\n

Fast-forward 16 years and Georgie is still working around three nights a week and reportedly earning five figures a month. Let that sink in for a second. She walked into the job without even knowing what Babestation was and, 16 years later, she\u2019s still doing it.<\/p>\n

Over the years, it\u2019s given her financial independence, flexibility, travel and some long-term friendships. And despite nearly two decades in adult entertainment, she says she doesn\u2019t regret it.<\/p>\n

\u201cI work when I want, with no boss,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

I mean\u2026 fair enough. That would probably keep me coming back too. She\u2019s even joked that she could still be doing it at 80, which honestly wouldn\u2019t surprise me. I\u2019ve worked alongside enough women from the old babeshow days to know that once you\u2019ve got that kind of personality and confidence, you don\u2019t suddenly lose it because you\u2019ve had a few birthdays.<\/p>\n

\u201cBorn for the Job\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n

What I find particularly interesting about Georgie is that she doesn\u2019t seem desperate to fit herself into some idea of what people think an adult performer should be. She\u2019s spent nearly two decades working in the industry, yet apparently doesn\u2019t even watch porn herself. It was never really about that for her.<\/p>\n

It was about the performance. The banter. The confidence. Knowing how to talk to people and, crucially, knowing how to keep them coming back. Because let\u2019s be honest, boobs might get someone\u2019s attention, but they\u2019re not necessarily going to keep them there. Personality does that. And Georgie clearly has plenty of it.<\/p>\n

One of the Originals<\/b><\/p>\n

When you look at Georgie\u2019s career as a whole, it\u2019s actually pretty bloody impressive. She\u2019s managed to span three completely different eras: the Page 3 and lads\u2019 mag days, the golden age of satellite babeshows and now the world of online creators. That\u2019s a hell of a career.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The industry around her has changed almost beyond recognition. The technology changed. The audience changed. The way people consume content changed. The way performers make money changed. Even the bloody terminology changed. But the fundamentals of what Georgie does haven\u2019t really changed at all.<\/p>\n

Only now, she\u2019s doing it in a world where creators can build an audience across half a dozen different platforms without ever stepping inside a television studio.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s why I think stories like Georgie\u2019s are so interesting. She\u2019s a link between the old babeshow world and the creator economy we have now.<\/p>\n

Sixteen years is a bloody long time to entertain people. So whether you remember Georgie from the early glamour days, watched her on Babestation back in the day, or you\u2019ve only discovered her more recently, there\u2019s no denying she\u2019s earned her place in babeshow history. And now, there\u2019s one more date to add to the story.<\/p>\n

Georgie\u2019s final Babestation night show was on 11th September 2026<\/b>, bringing an incredible 16-year run to a close. But this is Babestation, so we don\u2019t really do goodbyes.<\/p>\n

Because after 16 years, I can\u2019t imagine Georgie simply disappearing into the sunset and that being the end of the story. Whatever comes next, she\u2019s already left her mark on Babestation and on an entire generation of viewers who grew up with her on their screens.<\/p>\n
